Top Ten Favorite Heroines

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where each week we get a new topic for a top ten list.

Today’s Topic ~ Top Ten Favorite Heroines

As a person, I wouldn’t call myself tough-skinned; I usually wear my emotions on my sleeve and can be very sensitive. But I also know to stand up for what I believe in and what I think is right. These girls… their voices, their stories, moved me. I admire them so much. They have a fierceness of character but also the most endearing vulnerabilities. They make me proud to be a woman.

  1. Yesss. <3 Gorgeous post Danielle. I very much agree with you about these books :) Okay, I have only read 6 of them, but I loved those six. And those girls are all kinds of amazing. <3 I love a strong girl in the books that I read :) Thank you for sharing your choices sweetie. <3

  2. Great list! I do love all of those women. I will say though that I liked Eleanor from Eleanor and Park more than Cath from Fangirl. But Cath is still pretty great. :)

  3. I love a girl who doesn’t give up and take no for an answer and Scarlet is def that! I think I need to re-read Jellicoe Road as I don’t remember too much about it. xD

  4. I love the format you took for this, Danielle! Love it! And I like how you chose mostly characters aren’t exactly physically tough as nails, but emotionally they are awesome. And OMG you read The Fault in Our Stars? I thought that would so not be a Danielle book! :D I do have to read the Rachel Harris series. They sound like so much fun.
    Lovely list, Danielle!

  5. Quit being so darn cute and creative Danielle! :) JK. I love how you gave titles to your heroines. I love Sherry, Lilac, and Teresa!!!! I thought of Teresa but already had my 10, haha. I need to read quite a few other of these. Especially Jellicoe Road since you’re obsessed.

  6. I love this list, Danielle! This is fantastic, and so inspiring. Scarlet and Taylor are both heroines I didn’t even think of for my list. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Scarlet in Book 4!

This was a wonderful presentation of the top ten list for this week!

  7. Yay for Grace, Taylor and Lilac! I love Meg in The Others series by Anne Bishop, as well. So many more, but it’s late and I can’t think, lol! You reminded me I want to do a re-read of Jellicoe Road sometime. Great post, Danielle. :)

  8. Gwen and Bria are two of my favorite heroines–their voices are so accessible and easy to slip into, time and time again. Taylor is that prickly protagonist you’ve just got to root for and Lilac is the one who surprises you at every turn, which I adore. Hazel, Scarlet, and Grace are all so memorable as well. Gosh, LOVE this list and these heroines–I want to go back and re-read all these books now! ;)
